Attached or Detached!!
“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.----John 15; 1-8
Though I am not a farmer and am not even interested in farming, I would like to suggest a few tips for growing “fruit-bearing” trees.
Step1: Identify the branch that needs to give much fruit.
Step 2: Cut the branch (Don’t stare at me…It works J)
Step 3: Put the branch in a box and keep the box in a warm place
Step 4: At the right season, open the box and find the branch filled with fruits….
I can see you smile. …You ask… well how can a branch give fruits unless its joined with the tree…That’s exactly my point.. Sorry Jesus’s point..look at what he says.. “For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me”. Do you want to live fruitful life, a life that’s a blessing to others. There is only one way: To remain in HIM.
Secondly, Jesus says: For apart from ME (Jesus) you can do NOTHING. He does not say apart from ME you can do something or apart from me you do a few things. He says nothing. Yes we are so dependent on Jesus as a branch is completely dependent on the Vine. Join the Vine and let your life Shine. When you produce much fruit, you are His true disciples. This brings great glory to Our Father.
