Breaking the Barrier of Religious Rules

When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

- Matthew 8

Here we read about the leper's encounter with Jesus. He asks Jesus if he is willing to cure him. As per the religious rules of those days, the lepers were to stay outside the city and should never enter the society. Anyone who touches the leper would also be called unclean.

But Jesus breaks the religious rules to show the leper that God is willing and loving to make him whole. Jesus breaks the barrier of religious rules. This is one the greatest barrier for people to come in contact with God. Jesus is not concerned about rules but he is filled with Love.

Jesus touched, said he was willing and showed his power over disease. He broke the religious rules of those days because He was greater than any rules.

I am wondering what religious rules keeps us from showing the love of God. Do we have the courage like Jesus to break rules for relationships? I am not talking about breaking rules just for the sake of it. But i am talking about the rules that keep people away from God. Jesus wants us to break the barrier of religious rules.
