God's plan

Its Christmas Season! You might know that from my new BG. How does it look? Thanks for saying its good. ( I heard you:). For most of us Christmas is a time of planning and executing. Churches plan their programs. People plan their travel. Youngsters plan their celebrations. Kids plan on what gifts they need. People start to plan as if they are breathing. Effortlessly!! Mary too started planning. She had been engaged to Joseph. Mary had her great dreams and plans for her wedding as any engaged virgin would have. She made a list and wrote down on whom she should invite for the wedding. She chose the color of dress she should wear. The ear rings and the bangles. The special menu for the wedding. The special gift for Joseph. She really had some beautiful plans and her planning list was a long list. But all of a sudden, her plan came to a sudden halt by God who had different plans for her life. Mary was going to have a baby before marriage. Mary feared but the angels told she was favored. S...

Been Thinking!!

How should we pray? Today it was raining while i was coming to office. I forgot my rain coat. So i thought i will pray that rain stops. So i prayed. But the rain didnt stop. It was then i had this Strikingly odd or unusual thought. I had this thought on how should i pray. Should i talk to Jesus (as the diciples did when they were in the boat) or Should i talk like Jesus, commad the winds and the waves to stop. Should i talk to God or Should i talk to the situation using the authority. I didnt figure it out. Still thinking about it. Any suggestions.

First Step

Been long since i posted something ... well am stressed out a bit .. lots to pen ... yet nothing working out .. seems like a block ! I know i have been in hibernation for a really long time! Hope to bounce back soon...and this blog is my first step...:)

Dream to Destination

Joe was an young boy. He was the favorite son for his father. His father always got him the best dress available in the market. Life was straight and smooth for him. Straight and smooth until he had a dream. His dream was that he would some day become a great ruler or a king. He was very excited. He started telling his brothers about his dream in his life. No one encouraged him. Not even one. Instead they started to hate him. As he sat in the dinning table, some one whispered, here is the great dreamer. Everyone got a good laugh at his cost. His great dreams in life helped him turn his brother into his enemies. One day as he was taking food for his brothers, who were tending the sheep at a distance place, Joe didn't know that his straight life was going to end. His brothers, put him in a pit. There was a turn in his life. Sometimes in order to reach the destination, life takes its own twist and turns. His only way of seeing the light, was seeing upwards. He thought he is going to d...

Divine Providence

Image
This is a tree near my house. Its a great reminder of HIS Divine Providence. Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. Mathew 6:28

Satification Guaranteed!!!

Image
Jesus is the reward of christianity. Seeing Him in His full Glory is what we should long and desire for. St. Augstine asks, will you take Heaven minus Jesus. Jesus makes heaven, heaven. Let our desire to see Jesus increase day by day. When we see Him [He will] be marveled at and admired (2 thes 1:10 AMP) by us. Lets say with the psalmist, "As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness; I shall be fully satisfied". Thanks for the gift of dissatisfaction, because dissatisfaction in this earth makes us realize that only His Face can satify us. Amen.

YOUR EYES MAKE YOU WALK!!

Life has been like walking on water for me for the past one year. Walking on water means walking in an unstable platform. Water under your feet keeps moving. Its not stable. Sometimes life seems so unstable as it was for peter. Peter step out of his boat and started walking on water and guess what he succeeded. Do you know how. It was not based on strength of his legs or some great strategy that he used. His walk was based on where he fixed his eyes. His eyes helped him to walk on water. Where was his eyes fixed on. His eyes were fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. When he took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. Whenever our eyes are fixed on Jesus, walking in a unstable world would be easy. But once you take your eyes off Jesus, you can sense you heart sinking. Fear comes in and takes the throne. A sense of hopelessness comes in. Frustration, anger, and anxiety take their position. I have found this very true in my life. The minute I adjust my lens of my heart and...

Approachable Jesus

By this time a lot of men and women of doubtful reputation were hanging around Jesus, listening intently. (Luke 15:1, the Msg) NOW THE tax collectors and [notorious and [ a ]especially wicked] sinners were all coming near to [Jesus] to listen to Him. (Luke 15:1, Amplified) The verse above fascinates me and I have been thinking about it for a while. “A lot of men and women of doubtful reputation were hanging around Jesus”. Isn’t this text interesting? It clearly explains how approachable Jesus was. Sinners were coming nigh to him, to hear him. He was normal, friendly, caring and non-condemning. His approachableness astounds me. Some of his names tell us how approachable he was. He is called Friend, Brother, and Father. No one is afraid of these people. A friend is always approachable. No planning is required to meet a brother. A father always cares and is always approachable. That’s how you can come to Jesus. Just as you come to your friend, brother and Father. But the sad thing in chur...

New Creation!!!

Image
This is a tree near our office. During lenten season, it shed all its old leaves and gave birth to new ones. This is what happens to us when we are in christ. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Isn't this the message from the tree.

Great Moment

25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image
So here is my time to pat myself. Wonder Why? This is my 25th write-up of this blog. Don’t you think its time to celebrate? Well, so I pat pat pat. (Am also giving myself a treat this evening) It’s always a great pleasure to write. If you ask me what do you enjoy doing, writing these small write-ups would find its place in the top ten things in my life. It has been a wonderful experience during the past 7 months. I would also thank all those who have been following and commenting. You really keep me going. Thanks!!

Reflect Him

Image
“CALL”. I have heard many Christians talking about call. Are you going to ministry? Do you have a CALL? And this word is often misunderstood. Don’t go without a CALL, they say. I would like to write on what every one’s CALL is. Here it is “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son (JESUS)..” My friend this is you call in life. To be like Jesus. Nothing less. Be a mirror that reflects Jesus. Have a Heart like His. Does you talk and walk reflect Jesus? The mirror in my vehicle didn’t reflect what was behind me. So I had to clean it a bit and adjust it in such a way that it start reflecting the other vehicles behind me. If your life doesn’t reflect Jesus, do what I did to the mirror in my vehicle. Allow God to cleanse your life and adjust your life in such a way that you start to reflect Jesus in all you do. It high time you understand your call. You are called to be like Jesus. Reflect Him!!

Strong Grip!!

Image
This Sunday, as I was worshiping the lord in the church, God put a picture in my heart. It was an image of a father holding a child in his arm face towards him. The child wanted to break free from the fathers grip and so he was screaming and kicking the chest of the father. But the father’s grip was strong and hence the child gave up and the father brought him close to his heart. God said to me, this is a picture of you and me. Sometimes, though you tried to escape my grip, though you cried and kicked my heart, I never left you. My grip was too strong for you. No one can snatch you from my hands. Oh what a loving grip and a loving father we have. He never loosens His Grip on us.

Battle is Won!!!!

Can you fight an already won battle? What if I say I am going to fight and liberate India from the British rule? Do I make any sense? The fight is already over and India is already free from British rule. All I need to do is to enjoy my freedom and protect my already won freedom. Fighting the actual war for freedom is completely different from protecting your already won territory. But sadly, that’s what we do most of the time spiritually. We try to fight the war against the devil, which is already won. Jesus has disarmed the powers and authorities and He has made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Col 2: 15). So who are trying to disarm? The devil is a liar. The battle already won. You just have to enjoy your freedom and protect your freedom. Don’t try to fight a battle that has already been won by Jesus on the cross. Just don’t give the devil a foothold.

Remembering The Two Fathers

19/04/2009 Today is the birthday of my Daddy. If he is alive he would be 54. He met with an accident 5 years ago. He slipped away on Dec 16th. He was an encourager. Those who had talked to him for a few minutes leave encouraged. I have never seen him sad or dull. Today I remembered him more. My emotions were mixed. On one hand I thank God for his life and we did enjoy his wisdom, wits, jokes, deep spirituality. On the other hand I saw him enduring through suffering, going through pain. His death left a vacuum which could not be filled.I also thought about my Jesus today. And remembered his death. But today we have an empty tomb unlike my fathers. Jesus died and came alive. He lives. His spirit continues to enter the heart and lives of people. The Spirit of Jesus is comforting me today.

Word This Week

Image
This week our pastor taught about the five ways on how we can measure our spiritual growth. Let me list them for you. It is taken from 2 Corinthians 4. 1. Check if you have renounced secret and shameful ways or still do have negative areas that you are trying to hide from others. 2 Corinthians 4;2 2. Are you using deception? Do you have transparency in your life? Do people see the real you or are you wearing a mask? 2 Corinthians 4;2 3. Are you distorting the word of God? Are you stretching or peddling the Word of God for your own living? 2 Corinthians 4;2 4. Do you lose heart so easily or are you renewed day by day. Does the slightest affliction cause you to panic? 2 Corinthians 4; 16 5. Do you live by faith in God or do you live by what you see? 2 Corinthians 5; 7 Analyzing these questions will help you know your spiritual growth. Its time to grow. Its time introspect.

Fruitfulness ∞ Obedience

9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.---John 15; 9-17 Don’t read this article. This one is about obedience. If you are still reading this, you have just disobey...

Attached or Detached!!

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.----John 15; 1-8 Though I am not a farmer and am not even interested in...

He is Still working on me...

I was thinking about my own weaknesses, when i remembered this song that was written by Joel Hemphill ...He is Still working on me....(Jer 18; 1-6) CHORUS: He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be.I t took Him just a week to make the moon and stars, The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be, He's still working on me. 1. There really ought to be a sign upon the heart, Don't judge her yet, there's an unfinished part. But I'll be perfect just according to His plan Fashioned by the Master's loving hands. CHORUS: 2. In the mirror of His Word reflections that I see Make me wonder why He never gave up on me. He loves me as I am and helps me when I pray Remember He's the Potter, I'm the clay. CHORUS:

Home and Helper

In the 14th chapter of John, Jesus says twice; Do not let you heart be troubled. It is actually a command. Jesus knew that dark days were awaiting him and his disciples, but still says “Do not let your heart be troubled”. So I understand that am in control of my emotions. I can choose to happy or troubled. To achieve this there are two major promise that Jesus gives them. Last week I travelled to Madurai. I didn’t panic during my travel. I was enjoying the travel inspite of the difficulties I faced during my travel. Bad roads, irritating neighbors, boring movie, congested seats, and ups and downs in the road didn’t really trouble me. Why? Because I knew tomorrow morning I would be at home. That confidence made me enjoy the travel. Also, I had my wife at my side. She always wants to help me. She assists me in all that I do. I share how I feel and she understands. She encourages. She is a good helper. Confidence of my home and Comfort of my helper made my journey joyful and kept me on co...

Unconditional Love

18"I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture: 'He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.' 19"I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He. 20I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me." 21After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me." 22His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. 23One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. 24Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means." 25Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?" 26Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping t...

Tell HIM...

Image
I got a call. I was disturbed. I didn’t know what to do about the situation about which I was informed. Then I did what I usually do. I took a cup of coffee, went to the recreation hall in my office and sat down. Then I looked towards heaven. I said, Jesus I am scared. I don’t know what to do about this one. I need strength and I need grace. Let your peace rule my heart. I cast my burdens on you. I know you care for me. As I said these, my eyes were filled with tears. Heaven was silent. God’s silence is much sweeter than man’s words. My heart was warm. My strength regained. I got was I asked for. Grace and Peace to move on. Now I realize why St. Paul’s letters start with Grace and Peace. I do this many times during a day. I tell HIM about what’s happening. He listens. Tell HIM…..He listens…

Be a Model

12When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them. 13"You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. 15I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. John 13; 12-17 Am so proud of myself as I write my third consecutive article about humility. With such pride in my heart, I sit down to learn about humbleness!!! J (God save Me) We ll just look into two Verses from this passage. 15 and 17. 15-I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 17-Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you d...

Allow me to work on you--God

6He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?" 7Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." 8"No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." 9"Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!" 10Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you." 11For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.—John 13;6-11 I was reading this passage yesterday. One verse that really stood out of the Passage is the seventh verse. Jesus said to peter: You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand. How many times I tried to avoid what Jesus was doing in my life due to lack of understandi...

Know and Show

1It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love. 2The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. 3Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. John 13; 1-5 This passage is found in the 13th chapter of John. Though this passage is filled with so many valuable insights, I would like to highlight only two words for you to chew on. The final teachings of Jesus start in this chapter. 1. Before his final teachings came his final action- the washing of th...

God's Soldier!!!

Image
Here is Soldier Who needs your prayers... I am seenivasan (Name Changed) from Madurai. From a Hindu background I was saved by Jesus in the year 2002 through my classmate (During my PG studies). I accepted God’s call to be a fulltime worker when I was in Trichy in the Year 2004. I had a special burden to do ministry among the north Indians. So I started praying about it. Later, through EU Magazine I saw one article about Punjabi’s. It had an impact on me. So I started to pray to the Lord saying “God if it Your Will, please send me as a missionary to Punjab. I fervently pray for Punjabi’s from that day. Soon, I got an opportunity to go Bihar. I discussed to my Spiritual Father Pastor. Charles victor. He counseled me to go to Bihar first, to get trained, before going to Punjab. I also got confirmation from God through Ezek 3:22. I went to Bihar to join GEMS mission and worked as a missionary teacher. I served there for 3½years and it was a good training period. During my days in bihar, I...

The WORD...

Image
How a does a person share his thoughts, his plans and his message to others? Through words. How a does God share his thoughts, his plans and his message to us? Through the Word. That’s why john introduces Jesus as the Word in the very first chapter. Jesus is the Word of God, meaning he is the one that reveals God’s thoughts and plans to us. So meditate on Jesus, his work, his power, his characters. As you meditate more you understand God’s plan for you. Thank God we have the WORD. John 1;14-The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

Songs in the "Night"

Image
E very one goes through “night” phases in their life. What does night symbolizes. Darkness. We all go through such dark periods. But there is great difference in how a Christ follower reacts and how all others react. A person who follows Christ will be able to sing and rejoice in the darkest phase of his life because the LORD enables him and empowers him to do so. Job 35:10 says “Who gives songs of rejoicing in the night”. Yes he gives songs of rejoicing even in the night or dark periods of our life. Bible has so many examples for such songs. David sang when he was chased by Saul. But the most familiar example for most of us is found in Acts 16:25 “But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them” “About Midnight”…Midnight is the darkest time in a night. Yes it was the darkest period for Paul and Silas, yet they were able to sing hymns of praise. Was it their own strength? No it was God who enabled t...

HE KNOWS

As you have entered this New Year, i dont know all the plans God has for me and you, but i would like to remind you one Verse from the bible that encouraged me a lot. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 Though we may not know what this year holds for us, how encouraging is to know that HE KNOWS. Since HE KNOWS lets just follow HIM Wishing you all a Fruitful Year Ahead!!!!!!

Closed Doors...

Image
Bang! Bang! Bang!Have you heard the sound of door that closes? I believe every one of us have heard it. Many of us have been behind closed doors. Some of you are still behind one. Doors of guilt, doors of rejection, doors of hatred, doors of sickness, doors of broken relationships, doors of broken hopes and shattered dreams and the list never end.You are shameful of the past and fearful of the future. No joy. No peace. No hope. Closed Doors!!!They are hard to deal and hard to heal. May be you tried to open them with your friends, with entertainment, with your soul mate, with your job, with your knowledge and you failed. (None of these keys suits)I would like to turn your attention to a bunch of men who were behind a closed door. They lost their Hope. They were filled with fear. They were guilty.Yes their King was crucified. Yes their loyalties were tested. Yes they ran from the One who was their Hope. They betrayed Him. They had a heavy heart. They couldn’t forgive themselves. They cou...

Back to Jerusalem

Image
It was a journey of seven miles. But it seemed like 70 miles for the two. That was because they were disappointed and their hope was lost.Haven’t you felt the same when you walked back to home after a failure? The road seems long. The path seems tough. You don’t run. You don’t even walk but you crawl. Yes the road of disappointment is long. When your only hope is crushed your walk seems tough. That is what exactly happened to Cleopas and his friend as they walked along the road to Emmaus from Jerusalem.Look at their face. They were sad and downcast.Hear their words as they say “But we were hoping that it was He Who would redeem and set Israel free”“They were hoping”. So now their hope is gone. So they started walking back to their old place from Jerusalem. These two disciples were hoping that Jesus would save Israel, but when Jesus died, their Hope was gone. So from the protected, holy city of God, they walked down the path of disappointment to their old lives. We all walk such road, isn...
