Storm and Worship

Whenever we are hit by a storm in life, we immediately tend to acknowledge that we are not in the will of God. But today I will like to turn your focus on a storm that came because the disciples were obedient to the Lord. We read about this storm in Matthew 14th chapter.

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side.

                                                                                                                            - Matthew 14 : 22

This verse tells us that the disciples were in God’s Timing (immediately), God’s will (Made the disciples) and went in God’s direction (to the other side). Even when they were completely obedient, they had to face the storm.
May be you are facing a storm today even after obeying God. May be your boat is tossed by the winds and may be you are beginning to doubt Gods plan for you.

If you are in midst of storm, Jesus says to you, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

Don’t blame yourself or others for the storm. Don’t be immersed in guilt and doubt Gods plan. He wants you to Take courage.

In verse 33, you read, “Then those who were in the boat worshiped him”.

This storm was sent so that the disciples would worship him. As they got in to the boat and started their journey, they didn’t worship Him, but after the storm they worshipped Him. Worship was the automatic response for them after the storm, because the storm taught them that “He was in Control”.

May be the storm you are going through is teaching you to truly worship Him. May be you are panicking and striving hard for your life. But by the end of the storm, I am sure you will worship Him. Can’t you see Him walking through the storm towards you?
