The Master

I would like to introduce some of my very dear friends. Here is the first one. A cool
person!! The Master (Kumfu) He is called the Master for a number of reasons. One : He cooks well and hence is the Cooking Master Two: He is the Kumfu Master cos he goes to GYM :) ( Don't know if regularly) Three: He plays the keyboard and hence the Keyboard Master Four: he dances well so the Choreo Master Five: He send messages and our fellowship updates regularly and hence the Message Master and the reasons goes on...:) He is a very interesting and a lively person. Be with him and time flies. A very down to earth and practical friend. His loud laughter is so contiguous.
He so witty and wise. I can never forget the drive to Singapore ( not the real one but the hotel) most night and those parotta's and beefs. His Choreo with focus lights is unforgettable. He has a special ability to disappear and re appear ( Specially during prayer :)) lol) He is a very good Organizer. He sings well ( Remember kural valam). His special character from the bible is “MOSES”. He fears at using “Parker” pen. He loves animals and his wild dream is to maintain a Zoo ( I think he would be good at it) A very open and frank person and a fun loving one. His mails are funny but be careful you could be the object of fun. He is a song writer too (Remember ___Anbu___Mudiyu) Now, Congratulations to him as he is going to enter a new phase in his life. “Wish you a Happy Married life”

A Day at College (Remembering old memories)

Wake up
Look at your watch
Mull whether you should have a shower
Skip breakfast
Have some coffee instead
Try really waking up (After the coffee)
Steal some hot water for bathing
Get ready
Searching for my friend who gives me a lift in his break less cycle
Meet my friend who has a mouth full of bread as we leave the hostel
Get to college just on time early (Feel very proud about it)
Then realize I have forgot my notebook classroom
Rush back to hostel
Then, Run to the classroom
Reach 10 mins late
Sit down on the penultimate bench (Hoping you won't get called to answer anything in class)
Feel very tired after all the running
Sleep for the first half hour
Wake up because someone is standing near you
Realize that the staff is telling you that tomorrow is the last date for submission
You wonder which assignment the teacher is talking about
You confirm you doubts with the one sitting next you who confirms it with the next one
Realize that you have SO much to do
Feel battered and depressed (But you motivate yourself saying “ I can DO IT!")
Find out who else haven't started and fix a time to work together.
Lunch time - Go back to hostel
Plan a short nap
But it becomes a long one
Run back to college
Since its already late, change your mind and run to the canteen and eat a chicken roll
While eating, ponder and fret about the submission and decide to stay up all night doing it
Go for the next class
Sleep through it
Don't learn anything new
Go to the Library to collect some books for the assignment
Feel dejected cause most of the books are gone (Others have already finished and the books are with them)
Walk out feeling very worried
See your friends standing outside
Meet and greet
Talk for more than an hour
They ask you to join them for some shopping
You think about it for a second and then join them
You come back from the shopping late a
The fear of doing your assignment gets the upper hand
But after roaming for some time you feel so tired
You go have a shower
Now you are sleepy
Decide to get some sleep and wake up early and do the assignment
Can't sleep because you're stressing
Get onto google to find information
End up reading and replying to mails
It's already dawn!
Start writing essay
Do a good job (At least you think you have)
Search for staplers from room to room
Submit assignment
Feel relived
Go to class
Sleep
Wake up by the news of another assignment!!

God's plan

Its Christmas Season! You might know that from my new BG. How does it look? Thanks for saying its good. ( I heard you:).
For most of us Christmas is a time of planning and executing. Churches plan their programs. People plan their travel. Youngsters plan their celebrations. Kids plan on what gifts they need. People start to plan as if they are breathing. Effortlessly!! Mary too started planning. She had been engaged to Joseph. Mary had her great dreams and plans for her wedding as any engaged virgin would have. She made a list and wrote down on whom she should invite for the wedding. She chose the color of dress she should wear. The ear rings and the bangles. The special menu for the wedding. The special gift for Joseph. She really had some beautiful plans and her planning list was a long list. But all of a sudden, her plan came to a sudden halt by God who had different plans for her life. Mary was going to have a baby before marriage. Mary feared but the angels told she was favored. She didn't understand all of God's plan. From human perspective God's plan would only bring shame to her and it might even kill her. But the best thing was Mary accepted God's plan for her life and it brought LIFE into the World. Though she had so many plans for he r life, when God intervened, She accepted God's Plan for her life, thought she didn't understand. This is the message of the first Christmas. Not our plans, but God's plan. This Christmas lets lay aside our plans for our life and ask God What's His plan for our life. It may not be easy. But Trust Him, because His plans are always the Best plans. Because she accepted God's plan, she brought blessing to all generations. Your acceptance of God's plan can do the same.

Been Thinking!!

How should we pray?
Today it was raining while i was coming to office. I forgot my rain coat. So i thought i will pray that rain stops. So i prayed. But the rain didnt stop. It was then i had this Strikingly odd or unusual thought.
I had this thought on how should i pray. Should i talk to Jesus (as the diciples did when they were in the boat) or Should i talk like Jesus, commad the winds and the waves to stop. Should i talk to God or Should i talk to the situation using the authority. I didnt figure it out. Still thinking about it. Any suggestions.

Dream to Destination

Joe was an young boy. He was the favorite son for his father. His father always got him the best dress available in the market. Life was straight and smooth for him. Straight and smooth until he had a dream. His dream was that he would some day become a great ruler or a king. He was very excited. He started telling his brothers about his dream in his life. No one encouraged him. Not even one. Instead they started to hate him. As he sat in the dinning table, some one whispered, here is the great dreamer. Everyone got a good laugh at his cost. His great dreams in life helped him turn his brother into his enemies. One day as he was taking food for his brothers, who were tending the sheep at a distance place, Joe didn't know that his straight life was going to end. His brothers, put him in a pit. There was a turn in his life. Sometimes in order to reach the destination, life takes its own twist and turns. His only way of seeing the light, was seeing upwards. He thought he is going to die in the pit. So he sat at the corner of the pit. But suddenly he was reminded of his dream. He thought to himself this is not the way life ends for me. Though he found nothing in common with where he wanted to be and where he was now, he said to himself, this is not the end. His dream started to give him hope. Sometimes in life, when we feel like we are in a pit, and life seems to have come like a hurricane upon us, the only thing that sustains us is a promise or a dream that we have. No matter even if no one encourages us, our dream starts to carry us. We need to have dreams and vision in our life. Suddenly Joe found a rope coming down the pit. The very brothers who put him in a pit, as they saw a group of travelers, thought, let us make use of him and have some money. Here comes another turn in his life. From pit to be come a slave.
Now, wait a minute, did he not dream of becoming a king. Yes of course. But look where he was now. It seemed that he was heading exactly in the opposite direction. Thats how life is sometimes. But Joe, knew God was in control. Though it seemed, they used him and got money, God used them and brought Joe, a step closer to his dream. He uses your enemies to help you achieve your goal in life. So now Joe was in Egypt. There came the next turn in his life.

He was sold to a officer in Egypt. He was a bit comfortable there. Though he missed his home and his family, he was sincere in his work. He started to gain confidence and everything at last seemed to fall in place. His master saw his sincere work and promoted him to position next to him. Joe was happy. He thought he was “settled”. But his mater's wife thought otherwise. She was nagging Joe to cross the limit. But Joe's answer was “How can I do this against God”. Against Who? Not his master, not his tradition. His baseline for not sinning was God. Unfortunately he was not appreciated for his integrity. Instead he was sent to prison with false accusation. So here came the next turn of his life. When he thought his life came together, all hell broke lose. Remember his dream was to become a king. But now he was in the prison. May be God Thought the best way to enter the palace is through the prison. God has his own way of doing things.
Now I visualize Joe as the most depressed person on earth. He had great dreams but now he must have thought he was nowhere near it. Actually he was so close than ever. From pit to Portipar's home to prison. But Joe was not downcast. He started being sincere in prison. Sincere in prison?? Sincere as a King seems to suit Joe's Dream. But Sincere in prison. Isn't it Bizarre?? No matter where he was Joe was Sincere. You never heard him grumble or complaint in the pit or as a slave or now in prison. He could have said, when I get to the throne i'll work hard. No. He was sincere in a prison. There in prison he was promoted. When you are sincere and when the Lord is with you, even if you are in prison you will be promoted. One of his friend whom he had helped by interpreting his dream, was released. So Joe, told him to make arrangements to get him out by speaking to the King. But his friend forgot him. An unthankful friend didnt make Joe be unthankful to God. He waited. He worked hard. Until the KING got a dream. He was confused. (Throughout this story I see dreams bringing confusion :)) Joe interprets for the king. The king is stunned and he makes him ruler over Egypt. At last his dream is fulfilled. His final turn in life brought him to his destination. Pit, Slave, Prison and Palace was his path. Through twist and turns in his life Joseph at last came to the reality of his dream. It is easier to go straight in life, but twist and turns are essential to reach destination. Do we have great dreams for our life? Desires that seem impossible. Does your situation seem tough and trying? Don't be discouraged? The ONE who gives great Dreams and Desires will Direct you to your Destination in life by His Divine Grace.

Divine Providence

This is a tree near my house. Its a great reminder of HIS Divine Providence.
Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. Mathew 6:28

Satification Guaranteed!!!

Jesus is the reward of christianity. Seeing Him in His full Glory is what we should long and desire for. St. Augstine asks, will you take Heaven minus Jesus. Jesus makes heaven, heaven. Let our desire to see Jesus increase day by day. When we see Him [He will] be marveled at and admired (2 thes 1:10 AMP) by us.
Lets say with the psalmist, "As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness; I shall be fully satisfied". Thanks for the gift of dissatisfaction, because dissatisfaction in this earth makes us realize that only His Face can satify us. Amen.

YOUR EYES MAKE YOU WALK!!

Life has been like walking on water for me for the past one year. Walking on water means walking in an unstable platform. Water under your feet keeps moving. Its not stable.
Sometimes life seems so unstable as it was for peter. Peter step out of his boat and started walking on water and guess what he succeeded. Do you know how. It was not based on strength of his legs or some great strategy that he used. His walk was based on where he fixed his eyes. His eyes helped him to walk on water. Where was his eyes fixed on. His eyes were fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. When he took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink.
Whenever our eyes are fixed on Jesus, walking in a unstable world would be easy. But once you take your eyes off Jesus, you can sense you heart sinking. Fear comes in and takes the throne. A sense of hopelessness comes in. Frustration, anger, and anxiety take their position. I have found this very true in my life. The minute I adjust my lens of my heart and start focusing on Jesus, Fear moves out as Faith walks in. I have hope, because I know where my help comes from. I am learning to fix my eyes on Jesus alone. Some times I fail, but he stretches out His hand and makes me walk again.
Remember your walk is powered based on where your eyes are Fixed.
YOUR EYES MAKE YOU WALK!!

Approachable Jesus

By this time a lot of men and women of doubtful reputation were hanging around Jesus, listening intently. (Luke 15:1, the Msg)
NOW THE tax collectors and [notorious and [a]especially wicked] sinners were all coming near to [Jesus] to listen to Him. (Luke 15:1, Amplified)

The verse above fascinates me and I have been thinking about it for a while. “A lot of men and women of doubtful reputation were hanging around Jesus”. Isn’t this text interesting? It clearly explains how approachable Jesus was. Sinners were coming nigh to him, to hear him. He was normal, friendly, caring and non-condemning. His approachableness astounds me. Some of his names tell us how approachable he was.

He is called Friend, Brother, and Father. No one is afraid of these people. A friend is always approachable. No planning is required to meet a brother. A father always cares and is always approachable.
That’s how you can come to Jesus. Just as you come to your friend, brother and Father.

But the sad thing in church today is that we have only got teachers, pastors and preachers rather than friend, brother and father. Though I respect those titles, I value relationships. Give people a relationship and then they will hear us. Let us be more approachable to the unsaved one around us. What do you say?

New Creation!!!

This is a tree near our office. During lenten season, it shed all its old leaves and gave birth to new ones. This is what happens to us when we are in christ. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Isn't this the message from the tree.

25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here is my time to pat myself. Wonder Why?
This is my 25th write-up of this blog. Don’t you think its time to celebrate?
Well, so I pat pat pat. (Am also giving myself a treat this evening)
It’s always a great pleasure to write.
If you ask me what do you enjoy doing, writing these small write-ups would find its place in the top ten things in my life. It has been a wonderful experience during the past 7 months.
I would also thank all those who have been following and commenting. You really keep me going.
Thanks!!

Reflect Him

“CALL”. I have heard many Christians talking about call. Are you going to ministry? Do you have a CALL? And this word is often misunderstood. Don’t go without a CALL, they say.
I would like to write on what every one’s CALL is.
Here it is “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son (JESUS)..” My friend this is you call in life. To be like Jesus. Nothing less. Be a mirror that reflects Jesus. Have a Heart like His. Does you talk and walk reflect Jesus? The mirror in my vehicle didn’t reflect what was behind me. So I had to clean it a bit and adjust it in such a way that it start reflecting the other vehicles behind me. If your life doesn’t reflect Jesus, do what I did to the mirror in my vehicle. Allow God to cleanse your life and adjust your life in such a way that you start to reflect Jesus in all you do. It high time you understand your call. You are called to be like Jesus. Reflect Him!!

Strong Grip!!

This Sunday, as I was worshiping the lord in the church, God put a picture in my heart.
It was an image of a father holding a child in his arm face towards him.
The child wanted to break free from the fathers grip and so he was screaming and kicking the chest of the father. But the father’s grip was strong and hence the child gave up and the father brought him close to his heart.
God said to me, this is a picture of you and me. Sometimes, though you tried to escape my grip, though you cried and kicked my heart, I never left you. My grip was too strong for you. No one can snatch you from my hands.
Oh what a loving grip and a loving father we have.
He never loosens His Grip on us.

Battle is Won!!!!

Can you fight an already won battle? What if I say I am going to fight and liberate India from the British rule? Do I make any sense? The fight is already over and India is already free from British rule. All I need to do is to enjoy my freedom and protect my already won freedom. Fighting the actual war for freedom is completely different from protecting your already won territory.

But sadly, that’s what we do most of the time spiritually. We try to fight the war against the devil, which is already won. Jesus has disarmed the powers and authorities and He has made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Col 2: 15). So who are trying to disarm? The devil is a liar. The battle already won. You just have to enjoy your freedom and protect your freedom. Don’t try to fight a battle that has already been won by Jesus on the cross. Just don’t give the devil a foothold.

Remembering The Two Fathers

19/04/2009
Today is the birthday of my Daddy. If he is alive he would be 54. He met with an accident 5 years ago. He slipped away on Dec 16th. He was an encourager. Those who had talked to him for a few minutes leave encouraged. I have never seen him sad or dull. Today I remembered him more. My emotions were mixed. On one hand I thank God for his life and we did enjoy his wisdom, wits, jokes, deep spirituality. On the other hand I saw him enduring through suffering, going through pain. His death left a vacuum which could not be filled.I also thought about my Jesus today. And remembered his death. But today we have an empty tomb unlike my fathers. Jesus died and came alive. He lives. His spirit continues to enter the heart and lives of people. The Spirit of Jesus is comforting me today.

Word This Week

This week our pastor taught about the five ways on how we can measure our spiritual growth. Let me list them for you. It is taken from 2 Corinthians 4.

1. Check if you have renounced secret and shameful ways or still do have negative areas that you are trying to hide from others. 2 Corinthians 4;2
2. Are you using deception? Do you have transparency in your life? Do people see the real you or are you wearing a mask? 2 Corinthians 4;2
3. Are you distorting the word of God? Are you stretching or peddling the Word of God for your own living? 2 Corinthians 4;2
4. Do you lose heart so easily or are you renewed day by day. Does the slightest affliction cause you to panic? 2 Corinthians 4; 16
5. Do you live by faith in God or do you live by what you see? 2 Corinthians 5; 7

Analyzing these questions will help you know your spiritual growth. Its time to grow. Its time introspect.

Fruitfulness ∞ Obedience

9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.---John 15; 9-17

Don’t read this article.
This one is about obedience. If you are still reading this, you have just disobeyed. Disobedience displays the inbuilt nature of sin in us. A 3 year old kid disobeys at ease. Nobody teaches but it is inbuilt. In the 15th chapter of john we see Jesus telling his disciples to remain in His Love. How to remain in His Love? Jesus gives us the answer: If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love. Not only by reading His commandments but by doing what it says. Obeying to God’s word will make you remain in His love. Then the next question becomes what is His commandments. Jesus answers this too: My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. So when you obey god’s command and love each other as He loves us you remain in Him. When you remain in Him, you bear much fruit. So, obedience is directly proportional to the fruit you bear. In order to increase your fruitfulness, increase your obedience. You have disobeyed and read this article thus far and see how God can even use your disobedience and teach you about obedience :)

Attached or Detached!!

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.----John 15; 1-8

Though I am not a farmer and am not even interested in farming, I would like to suggest a few tips for growing “fruit-bearing” trees.
Step1: Identify the branch that needs to give much fruit.
Step 2: Cut the branch (Don’t stare at me…It works J)
Step 3: Put the branch in a box and keep the box in a warm place
Step 4: At the right season, open the box and find the branch filled with fruits….
I can see you smile. …You ask… well how can a branch give fruits unless its joined with the tree…That’s exactly my point.. Sorry Jesus’s point..look at what he says.. “For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me”. Do you want to live fruitful life, a life that’s a blessing to others. There is only one way: To remain in HIM.
Secondly, Jesus says: For apart from ME (Jesus) you can do NOTHING. He does not say apart from ME you can do something or apart from me you do a few things. He says nothing. Yes we are so dependent on Jesus as a branch is completely dependent on the Vine. Join the Vine and let your life Shine. When you produce much fruit, you are His true disciples. This brings great glory to Our Father.

He is Still working on me...

I was thinking about my own weaknesses, when i remembered this song that was written by Joel Hemphill...He is Still working on me....(Jer 18; 1-6)

CHORUS:
He's still working on me
to make me what I ought to be.I
t took Him just a week to make the moon and stars,
The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be, He's still working on me.

1. There really ought to be a sign upon the heart,
Don't judge her yet, there's an unfinished part.
But I'll be perfect just according to His plan
Fashioned by the Master's loving hands.

CHORUS:

2. In the mirror of His Word
reflections that I see
Make me wonder why He never gave up on me.
He loves me as I am and helps me when I pray
Remember He's the Potter, I'm the clay.
CHORUS:

Home and Helper

In the 14th chapter of John, Jesus says twice; Do not let you heart be troubled. It is actually a command. Jesus knew that dark days were awaiting him and his disciples, but still says “Do not let your heart be troubled”. So I understand that am in control of my emotions. I can choose to happy or troubled. To achieve this there are two major promise that Jesus gives them.

Last week I travelled to Madurai. I didn’t panic during my travel. I was enjoying the travel inspite of the difficulties I faced during my travel. Bad roads, irritating neighbors, boring movie, congested seats, and ups and downs in the road didn’t really trouble me. Why? Because I knew tomorrow morning I would be at home. That confidence made me enjoy the travel. Also, I had my wife at my side. She always wants to help me. She assists me in all that I do. I share how I feel and she understands. She encourages. She is a good helper. Confidence of my home and Comfort of my helper made my journey joyful and kept me on course.

These are the same two promises that Jesus gives His disciples.
“2-3;In my Father's house are many rooms…..I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” It’s a promise about heaven or eternal home.
16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor or Helper to be with you forever—. And here is the promise of an eternal Helper, the Holy Spirit.

Confidence about your home (In Heaven) and Comfort and guidance of your Helper (The Holy Spirit) will make your journey joyful and keep you on course. So next time you are troubled, here is the remedy- Home (heaven) and Helper (the Holy Spirit).

Unconditional Love

18"I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture: 'He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.' 19"I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am He. 20I tell you the truth, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me." 21After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me." 22His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. 23One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. 24Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means." 25Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?" 26Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon. 27As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. “What you are about to do, do quickly," Jesus told him, 28but no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him. 29Since Judas had charge of the money, some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the Feast, or to give something to the poor. 30As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night. John 13:18-30

Two things I learned from this passage;
In the 21st verse, I read Jesus was troubled in spirit. Yes you read it right. He was TROUBLED IN SPIRIT. Jesus bold in his spirit, I agree. Jesus confident in spirit, I agree. Jesus joyful in spirit I agree. But Jesus troubled in spirit, troubles my spirit. How can Jesus be troubled. He is God. Yes He is God. But He was also 100 % man. So whenever I say to him Lord, am troubled in my heart, He understands. He says What you are going through, I have already been through. Hence he is ready and able to help us.
Secondly, I want you look at the way Jesus treated Judas. He was completely aware that Judas would hurt him. But He treated Judas as Jews usually treat a special guest. He dipped a piece of bread and gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon. Dipping a piece of bread and giving it to a person is usually done to honor a person. Jesus honored Judas knowing that he will hurt Him. What great love does God shower upon us? Though we were enemies to Him He still loves us. After accepting the bread or after accepting God’s love, Judas went out. Many times we go out of His presence after tasting his love. What happens when go out of his presence? John writes “And it was night”. Yes when you leave the Light of the world, your life becomes dark.

Tell HIM...

I got a call. I was disturbed. I didn’t know what to do about the situation about which I was informed. Then I did what I usually do.
I took a cup of coffee, went to the recreation hall in my office and sat down.
Then I looked towards heaven. I said, Jesus I am scared. I don’t know what to do about this one. I need strength and I need grace. Let your peace rule my heart. I cast my burdens on you. I know you care for me. As I said these, my eyes were filled with tears.
Heaven was silent. God’s silence is much sweeter than man’s words. My heart was warm. My strength regained. I got was I asked for. Grace and Peace to move on. Now I realize why St. Paul’s letters start with Grace and Peace. I do this many times during a day. I tell HIM about what’s happening. He listens. Tell HIM…..He listens…

Be a Model

12When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them. 13"You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. 15I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. John 13; 12-17

Am so proud of myself as I write my third consecutive article about humility. With such pride in my heart, I sit down to learn about humbleness!!! J (God save Me)
We ll just look into two Verses from this passage. 15 and 17.
15-I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 17-Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Jesus does not preach a long sermon on humbleness. He just sets us an example. People don’t need Messages. They need Models. Set them examples. Don’t preach. This is what Jesus did. He says: I have set you an example. Example of what? Humility, Love, Services. Will you Stop Talking and Start Doing. Be doers of the Word. What happens when we obey His teachings? We will be blessed or happy. Jesus says: Now that you know these things, you will be blessed or Happy if you do them. Want a principle to be happy. Take that. Obey His Word and be happy.
Set an example for others by obeying his example and be blessed.

Allow me to work on you--God

6He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, are you going to wash my feet?" 7Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." 8"No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me." 9"Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!" 10Jesus answered, "A person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet; his whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you." 11For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.—John 13;6-11

I was reading this passage yesterday. One verse that really stood out of the Passage is the seventh verse. Jesus said to peter: You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand. How many times I tried to avoid what Jesus was doing in my life due to lack of understanding. It even appeared harmful to me. But the lord encouraged me yesterday saying you may not understand all that I am doing in your life. But just trust me. Because unless I do what I have to do in you, you have no part with me.
Lord, help me to allow you to work on me. Though I don’t understand, I trust you.

Know and Show

1It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love. 2The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. 3Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. John 13; 1-5

This passage is found in the 13th chapter of John. Though this passage is filled with so many valuable insights, I would like to highlight only two words for you to chew on.
The final teachings of Jesus start in this chapter.

1. Before his final teachings came his final action- the washing of their feet. And these final actions speak a lot. Most of the times we speak a lot without any action. But Jesus not only said to them that He loved them but also SHOWED them the full extent of His Love. We need to follow his foot steps.

2. Secondly, why did Jesus act like that? The word KNEW explains that to us. In this passage we read the word Jesus Knew, couple of times. This knowledge about His Father and his heavenly timing made him act differently. Jesus knew what his disciple didn’t know. And this knowledge is what caused him his action that is to Show them. He was always heavenly minded. He saw things in eternal perspective. But his disciple could not look beyond earth. When we see things from heavenly perspectives, we can be calm before any storm and even wash the feet of the person who would betray us.

So today I would like to place two words before you. Know and Show.

Know God’s Plan.
Show God’s Love.

Come, let’s follow his footsteps…

God's Soldier!!!

Here is Soldier Who needs your prayers...

I am seenivasan (Name Changed) from Madurai. From a Hindu background I was saved by Jesus in the year 2002 through my classmate (During my PG studies). I accepted God’s call to be a fulltime worker when I was in Trichy in the Year 2004. I had a special burden to do ministry among the north Indians. So I started praying about it. Later, through EU Magazine I saw one article about Punjabi’s. It had an impact on me. So I started to pray to the Lord saying “God if it Your Will, please send me as a missionary to Punjab. I fervently pray for Punjabi’s from that day. Soon, I got an opportunity to go Bihar.

I discussed to my Spiritual Father Pastor. Charles victor. He counseled me to go to Bihar first, to get trained, before going to Punjab. I also got confirmation from God through Ezek 3:22. I went to Bihar to join GEMS mission and worked as a missionary teacher. I served there for 3½years and it was a good training period. During my days in bihar, I was greatly benefitted from the God given spiritual role model Bro. Augustine jebakumar. He reminded me of St. Paul.

God opened the door for me to move in to Punjab in the Year 2008 (July). During this waiting period, I learned when we wait on God he will do all things for us in correct time. As I came to Punjab God gave me a Word for my Punjab ministry (Rev 3:8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.) I prayerfully decided to serve as a tentmaker first. So now I am working in a private school as a teacher, so that I can learn the culture, language, ministry etc. On the long run I will be in the full time ministry. Right now am working in Christian school in Punjab. In the evenings, I go to prayer cells, one Tuesday and another on Friday. During the weekend, I have preaching assignment with A.C.A(Ludhiana), IMS(Ram ha) , Kirubasanam(Ludhiana) and my school church(moga). I am spending more time to prayer, bible reading, and to learn the Punjabi and Hindi. I am creating new contacts to make good friendship with Punjabi’s. My Thoughts are filled with “Salvation for Punjab” Next year I have planned to select any five villages near my place so I can start working. I love Punjabi’s very much . Please do keep me in your prayers.

The WORD...

How a does a person share his thoughts, his plans and his message to others?
Through words.
How a does God share his thoughts, his plans and his message to us?
Through the Word.
That’s why john introduces Jesus as the Word in the very first chapter. Jesus is the Word of God, meaning he is the one that reveals God’s thoughts and plans to us.
So meditate on Jesus, his work, his power, his characters. As you meditate more you understand God’s plan for you.
Thank God we have the WORD.
John 1;14-The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

Songs in the "Night"

Every one goes through “night” phases in their life. What does night symbolizes. Darkness.
We all go through such dark periods.
But there is great difference in how a Christ follower reacts and how all others react.
A person who follows Christ will be able to sing and rejoice in the darkest phase of his life because the LORD enables him and empowers him to do so.
Job 35:10 says “Who gives songs of rejoicing in the night”. Yes he gives songs of rejoicing even in the night or dark periods of our life. Bible has so many examples for such songs. David sang when he was chased by Saul.

But the most familiar example for most of us is found in Acts 16:25
“But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them”
“About Midnight”…Midnight is the darkest time in a night. Yes it was the darkest period for Paul and Silas, yet they were able to sing hymns of praise. Was it their own strength? No it was God who enabled them. Psalms 8;2 says “From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise”. So God is the one who enable us to praise. Next time when you are tempted to say am not able to praise remember He is the one who enables you to praise.
Ok. What happens when you praises. There are different answers to that question. But one answer is it silences the mouth of the enemy-the Devil. Do you want the proof? See psalms 8:2 again “to silence the foe and the avenger”. When you praise it shuts the mouth of the devil. So to shut his mouth of all negative and discouraging comments he gives you start praising the LORD. Now its not easy for you to guess what Daniel would have done in the lions Den. Just praising God.
So Praise God And shut up the lion's mouth....

HE KNOWS

As you have entered this New Year, i dont know all the plans God has for me and you, but i would like to remind you one Verse from the bible that encouraged me a lot.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Though we may not know what this year holds for us, how encouraging is to know that HE KNOWS. Since HE KNOWS lets just follow HIM
Wishing you all a Fruitful Year Ahead!!!!!!

Closed Doors...

Bang! Bang! Bang!Have you heard the sound of door that closes? I believe every one of us have heard it. Many of us have been behind closed doors. Some of you are still behind one. Doors of guilt, doors of rejection, doors of hatred, doors of sickness, doors of broken relationships, doors of broken hopes and shattered dreams and the list never end.You are shameful of the past and fearful of the future. No joy. No peace. No hope. Closed Doors!!!They are hard to deal and hard to heal. May be you tried to open them with your friends, with entertainment, with your soul mate, with your job, with your knowledge and you failed. (None of these keys suits)I would like to turn your attention to a bunch of men who were behind a closed door. They lost their Hope. They were filled with fear. They were guilty.Yes their King was crucified. Yes their loyalties were tested. Yes they ran from the One who was their Hope. They betrayed Him. They had a heavy heart. They couldn’t forgive themselves. They couldn’t face themselves. How could they face their Master?Have you ever been there!Roaring and bold like a lion Once, Scared of the roaring lion Now.Running for God Once! Running from God Now!Bang! Bang! Bang! And suddenly you are behind the Closed Door!Lets come back to the those bunch of men behind the Closed door.As they were there in behind the door, Jesus came in. The door was still closed. But Jesus still could come in. Not to condemn them, not to scare them (though they were scared), not to prove them they are guilty (though all was right to do), but to say “Peace be with you” or be at peace with God again because I have taken away your sins!!Today God enters your closed Door and pronounces these words to your trouble hearts “Peace be with you” because he is the Prince of peace. No door can stop Jesus! Not even the door of Grave!!Next time you see a closed door, let it remind you of the Carpenter who walks through it!!!

Note: Am happy to inform you that this article was published in the Christian Messenger Magazine...Praise God!!

Back to Jerusalem

It was a journey of seven miles. But it seemed like 70 miles for the two. That was because they were disappointed and their hope was lost.Haven’t you felt the same when you walked back to home after a failure? The road seems long. The path seems tough. You don’t run. You don’t even walk but you crawl. Yes the road of disappointment is long. When your only hope is crushed your walk seems tough. That is what exactly happened to Cleopas and his friend as they walked along the road to Emmaus from Jerusalem.Look at their face. They were sad and downcast.Hear their words as they say “But we were hoping that it was He Who would redeem and set Israel free”“They were hoping”. So now their hope is gone. So they started walking back to their old place from Jerusalem. These two disciples were hoping that Jesus would save Israel, but when Jesus died, their Hope was gone. So from the protected, holy city of God, they walked down the path of disappointment to their old lives. We all walk such road, isn’t it? One disappointment and we show our back to God. When our Hope is lost we start walking back the road of disappointment and we tend to go back to our old lives. But this evening as I read this passage I saw what I didn’t see all these days.As these disciples were walking back with shattered hope, they were not alone. Because the 15th verse tells us “Jesus Himself caught up with them and was already accompanying them.Did you see that word? No? Ok one more chance...Now read the sentence slowlyJesus Himself caught up with them and was already accompanying them. (That word is highlightedJ)Yes the Word is “Already”Oh how wonderful is our Lord. He was already walking down the road of disappointment with them even before they saw him.May be today the road that you are walking is tough, but remember He is “Already” walking with you. Not only He walked with them, but he changed their direction of journey. He changed their disappointing journey into a journey of Hope. Look at this verse “And rising up that very hour, they went back to Jerusalem”.A few hours back they were walking away from Jerusalem, but after Jesus walked with them and talked with them they were walking towards Jerusalem.A few hours back they were disappointed, but now they were filled with Hope.Whatever may be the road you are traveling and whatever may be the distance you are away from the city of Hope, the One who walked still walks and the One who talked still talks. See Him and Hear Him. Your life won’t be the same again. Theirs weren’t.Luke 24:15 And while they were conversing and discussing together, Jesus Himself caught up with them and was already accompanying them. (Amplified Bible)Luke 24:33 And rising up that very hour, they went back to Jerusalem…
